African Safari Lodge Botswana 01

Overlooking a sparkling lagoon, the earthy glamour of this striking Lodge provides the perfect counterpoint to the natural bounty of this riverside landscape. A strong but playful recycled theme provides unusual accents at every turn. Explore the intricate watery canals by mokoro or traverse the golden grasslands in search of the Big Five by vehicle, retreating to the contemporary comfort of your suite by night. Cuddle up in the large outdoor cane lounger and watch the sun go down over the Delta.

African Hotels

Hotels are not part of a safari per se. However, it is quite common to stay in a hotel for a night or two in the city where you first arrive in Africa. This will enable you to relax for a day or so and get over your jet lag before you start your safari. In addition, many people like to go to a sea side hotel, again to relax a little, after completing their safari.

Hotels in Africa are similar to hotels in other parts of the world as it relates to luxury and accommodations. It is different from the luxury that you experience at safari lodges and camps. Hotels are included here because they are an important part of planning a safari.

African Bush Camps

Bush Camps

Bush camps are semi-permanent camps set up in game rich areas. In Southern Africa, such as Botswana and Zambia, they are in operation only during dry months and taken down for the duration of the rainy and hot season, which is from November to March. In Eastern Africa, specifically in Tanzania, they are open year-round but are relocated/moved to follow the famous Wildebeest Migration as the wildebeest move in search of new grass and water on their year round journey.

African Safaris and Charitable Giving (Safari Samaritan) is a "for profit" company. All the money we make is from the sale of travel insurance. We make no income on the sale of solar powered lamps, nor do we receive any fees from the manufacturer or distributer of the lamps.

Because we are "for profit", none of the items we suggest you donate while on safari should be considered a tax deductible item, including the solar powered lamps. However, because we are "for Profit”, and make all our money from travel insurance, you can be sure that 100% of the money you donate for solar powered lamps goes to the purchase of the lamps.
